Friends of the Library is a nonprofit advocacy organization which supports the Library. Our volunteer members advocate, educate, and raise funds on behalf of the Library, its patrons, and the community.

Who We Are
Thank you for your interest in the Kalona Public Library. Friends of the Kalona Public Library is a non-profit organization that provides volunteer and financial support to the library. Friends support open access to information through libraries for all people.
 
Volunteer As A Friend
We invite you to join us and participate in a variety of ongoing projects throughout the year. Volunteer as a Friend to assist with:

* day-to-day library activities
* the book sale in March
* weekly storytimes during the summer

 

Membership categories: 
Individual   $5
Family $10
Business /Benefactor  $25 or more.
 

*All memberships are tax-deductible


Through the support of Friends, the Kalona Public Library has received the following items and enhancements:

* new desktop PC's for patrons
* new books
* copy machine
* microfilm of The Kalona News
* supplies for story hour
* helped finance library automation
